The FCC’s approval of a new hotline devoted to suicide prevention and mental health is a perfect endcap to year of progress for Americans increasingly seeking behavioral help. “This designation will help ease access to crisis services, reduce the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health conditions, and ultimately save lives,” the FCC writes of the 988 proposal.
